This colorful glass jar from our mother’s and grandmother’s eras is very nostalgic. Those ladies used to can the fruits and vegetables they grew to eat over the winter. The gold underpainting highlights the flowers and stems and appears as calligraphy on the jar. This piece is framed and ready to go.
I painted my neighbor’s beautiful flower bed with bees and butterflies several years ago. This is the first time I saw it in situ in her kitchen. It looks great!
The opening is this Saturday, November 11 from 11-5. Come early, 11 or so, and you will get a goody bag with a free painting in it. At 2:00 they announce the prize winners.
I plan to be there from 12:00 to 2:30. However, I am still walking with a cane, and my new knee doesn’t bend very well. I may tire out early!

This painting features the male goldfinch that visited our birdfeeder every day at the Cape. His paler mate always waited patiently while he ate voraciously. Gold calligraphic strokes add some whimsy throughout the scene.
This painting features a blue-black swallowtail butterfly on daisies against a warm, glowing sky. Gold calligraphic strokes add a touch of whimsy.
I painted this watercolor on Memorial Day Weekend in the wildflower fields of Connemara Conservancy. It features lilac basket-flowers and yellow coneflowers. The Conservancy used the painting for their new stationery. You can see the front and the back here. I am so flattered.

Continuing with my beach rose series, here is a scene from the harbor in Provincetown. The roses spill across the sand with a view of the dock and moored boats. The sky is lively with clouds and various blue hues.
Before the daylilies bloomed, this little Cape Cod cottage just blended into the surrounding greenery. Then the flowers bloomed and WOW! The orange and yellow daylilies sparkled. I posted a much smaller sketch of this a while ago.
This watercolor along with three others will be on display at the church until November 16. The Reception is Sunday, October 15 from noon to 2:00 pm. This is open to the public!
