“My paintings capture memories of travel, good times and the natural beauty all around me. My collectors tell me the same thing - that the paintings remind them of places they have been or important people in their lives, especially sisters, mothers and grandmothers.
I like to paint flowers alone or flowers in the landscape, with thick paint applied with a knife and bright colors that jump off the page.”

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Ann McCann is a painter, living and working in Dallas, Texas. Her work takes inspiration from the Fauvists and Impressionists, using bold strokes and colors to capture breathtaking landscapes and lively floral scenes. Ann’s work plays with the juxtaposition of opaque and translucent layers, capturing the beauty of the world around her. Her work is meant to delight and captivate the viewer, just as their real world subject matter never fails to inspire.
Ann has been painting for over 20 years, much of it plein-air work. She has travelled around the world to paint and to be inspired, including trips to the canals of Venice, the hills of Tuscany, the lights of Paris, and Monet’s water lily pond in Giverny. She has painted the lavender fields of Provence, the windmills of La Mancha amidst the rugged beauty of Southern Spain, and countless spring scenes of the biblical landscapes of Israel.
Ann’s work has been exhibited in galleries throughout Texas and beyond.
