My neighbors on the corner have the best garden all year round. This is their lovely fall garden. They also cultivate bees and butterflies. I enjoy it everyday on my daily walks around the neighborhood.
SOLD "Provence Poppies" by Ann McCann 9 X 12" Oil
Who doesn’t love poppies! These were fun to paint in vibrant reds, pinks and purples. The shapes of the poppies opening up and blooming are actually pretty abstract.
SOLD "Ivory Dream" by Ann McCann 9 X 12" Watercolor
In the early part of the pandemic I focused on watercolors. A client in Canada just purchased this last week. It’s great to have international customers! I have a lot more watercolors that are available here at my website.
"Sunset Over the Lake" by Ann McCann Chosen for the Dutch Art Gallery 2020 Fall Show
I saw this sunset while having dinner overlooking Coventry Lake in Connecticut. When I started painting it, I thought the sunset would be the centerpiece. Now finished, I think it is the water. The Dutch Art Gallery Show “The Magic Hour” will open online November 14, 2020. You can visit the gallery, but there will not be a reception due to Covid.
"Peony Shutter" by Ann McCann 6 X 6" Oil
The blue shutters on a window in Provence are a great backdrop for these pink peonies. That lovely blue color is also reflected on the underside of the peony. This painting is currently available for purchase at the Dutch Art Gallery in Dallas.

"Coventry Lake Sunset" by Ann McCann 12 X 12" Oil
We were lucky to catch the sunset as we ate at the restaurant overlooking the lake in Coventry, CT. It was cool, sweater weather, as we enjoyed our seafood dinner.
"Goldenrod" by Ann McCann 9 X 12" Oil
This is not a commonly painted flower, but a field of them is gorgeous. I see a field of them every morning, glowing in the yellow sunlight. The goldfinches like them too!
"Hydrangea Path" by Ann McCann Travel Sketch Watercolor
When I am on vacation, I like to do small watercolors of my favorite scenes. They are fairly quick and are lovely memories. Sometimes they end up as oil paintings when I get home to my studio. This scene was in Chatham, the town where we stayed in Cape Cod.
"Pink Sky Moon" by Ann McCann 12 X 12" Oil
Right after the sun slips under the horizon, there are a few moments when the sky is filled with color and the moon appears. This is the moment I captured over the ocean in Old Saybrook, CT.
"Goldenrod on Trees" by Ann McCann 9 X 12" Oil
I have this beautiful field of goldenrod outside my window right now and can’t resist painting it. I don’t think I have ever seen anyone painting it so I may be unique!
"Farm Sunset" by Ann McCann 12 X 12" Oil
There is a place in Storrs, CT called Horsebarn Hill where people gather for the sunset. Here is what I saw the evening I went there with 100 some UConn students.
"Sun on the Pines" by Ann McCann 9 X 12" Oil
I have spent many hours gazing at these pine trees as the early morning sun shines through them. The light sparkles and bounces all around the trunks and the grass.
